Got some great news! ”A Better Life” was recently announced as one of the runner-ups in Mike Pinder’s SONGWARS songwriting competition! Mike Pinder is one of the original members of the Moody Blues, and SONGWARS is a quarterly songwriting competition aimed at promoting the work of independent artists.
The best part is that A Better Life will be issued as part of a compilation CD showcasing all the winners and runners-up for this quarter! It should be released by mid-2009.

The good reviews keep on coming! Here’s the latest review of my CD, courtesy of Wildy Haskell in his blog, Wildy’s World! Here’s a link to the review - http://wildysworld.blogspot.com/2009/02/review-scott-krokoff-better-life.html
Wildy seemed to like most of the album, with his favorite song being Autumn Sky. He also singled out Sparrows and Holy Fire for praise. His review, however, is not without some constructive critique. Wildy thought the album sounded almost too pleasant as a whole and that I would have benefitted taking more risks on the album. I’m not sure I agree but I understand his point. Besides, there’s nothing wrong with receiving some constructive criticism, and I did inform him that on my next effort - currently in the works - I was already planning to explore different avenues both musically and lyrically and take more of the “risks” that Wildy would like me to take.
In any event, thanks to Wildy Haskell for the very solid review and be sure to check out his blog, Wildy’s World, for more reviews of upcoming artists! http://wildysworld.blogspot.com/
